One of the foundation stones of Castlethorpe Homes is to look at helping the community as part of developing in the local area, giving back and where possible adding to the local area and community whilst providing quality new homes. On the most recent site we had two old stable buildings left on the land purchased to build four new homes which normally would be destined to be demolished and ended up in the skip – Instead, we reached out to a few local contacts and our landscaping contractor put us in contact with Derek Byrne Equine in Chilton, Oxfordshire.

Derek Byrne Equine is a very small business that offers Equine pre-training and holiday rest. It is a new business established in Summer 2020 and had been struggling to become established due to high running costs within the Equine industry.  Castlethorpe Homes loved the vison of Derek and Jonathan and their equine dream and donated the two double stable blocks in the hope of boosting their small local business and saving them a large upfront cost of additional stables. They commented “This will give a massive boost to a small company and greatly increase our chances of survival in the uncertain financial circumstances we are all currently experiencing”.
